According to Andy McNamara, editor-in-chief at Game Informer, all screenshots from Batman: Arkham Origins are only available through the Game Informer magazine. After Game Informer's May issue went live online for subscribers, screenshots that were included in the issue began appearing on other video game websites.
If someone gets a story, we don't steal your screeenshots and take your story, we report on the event and push them to the source
— Andy McNamara (@GI_AndyMc) April 10, 2013
Though all the websites who posted the images linked back to Game Informer's website, the content these websites posted was meant as an exclusive to Game Informer subscribers. McNamara went on to mention that websites with the screenshots were contacted and most quickly removed them from their websites.
However, McNamara posed a greater question:
If journalists don't respect their craft and their peers, then we can't complain when the internet makes "video game journalists suck" jokes
— Andy McNamara (@GI_AndyMc) April 10, 2013
Some of those jokes include entire video game journalism hate-sites like gamejournos.com.
Batman: Arkham Origins is slated for release on October 25 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U and PC.
