With some of the public using video games as a scapegoat for the Sandy Hook shooting and the mainstream media targeting games for causing violence, video games aren't getting a break down at Washington anytime soon. The Video Game Voters Network has made itself a watchdog for the rights of the video game industry and rallies the registered voters to take action to protect the gaming community.
The network's most recent campaign efforts include emailing subscribers information about the banter Rep. Frank Wolf has said against video games:
"Video games are a key component of the nation's violence problem ... As a grandparent or a parent, to pretend these violent video games don't make a difference -- it's crazy."
The email includes a link back to the network's website where the subscriber can send a pre-written email to Rep. Frank Wolf. Although there is text indicating that contents of the email can be edited, it is not available for this specific message.
In addition to campaigning, the Video Game Voters Network tracks political video game news, such as the incident with Fourkiller in Oklahoma. Although the network has a blog for news, it is rarely updated but their active Twitter makes up for it. There, the network shares political news and other information concerning video games.
Thank you Rep. Duncan Hunter for understanding that video games aren’t the cause of violence. RT if you agree. twitter.com/VideoGameVoter…

Another unique feature of the website can be found under the 'learn more' tab. This section includes information about the health benefits of video games, ESRB guidelines, game regulation myths and more. Though some of the information is a little outdated, it is a great resource for anyone writing a research paper or just wanting some more information on the industry.
