Lionhead Announces Fable Anniversary

Today Lionhead Studios' Ted Timmins announced plans for Fable Anniversary, the HD remake of the original Fable, on Major Nelson's blog. Nearly a decade after it first launched on the original Xbox, this retelling of Fable will feature an enhanced interface, new achievements, Xbox SmartGlass integration and more.

"We've got some exciting UI to show off along with all of our other implements," Timmins told Nelson. "And obviously, you've got the whole visual update as well."

This version of Fable will include all of the extra gameplay from Fable: The Lost Chapters, uses Unreal 3 for the lighting, has a new save system, features leaderboards and, of course, includes tons of chicken kicking.

Timmins told Nelson that Xbox SmartGlass will be a unique feature for the game and will allow players to view their map and take screenshots of the game among other features.

Fable Anniversary will be released this holiday season exclusively for the Xbox 360.
