5 Screenshots Prove That Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon is Real

That's right, you read the title correctly. The long-rumored standalone expansion, Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon is real. Even though it's been all but formally announced, five screenshots showed up today, and it looks incredible. You can check out the screenshots below.

This resurgance of 1980's Sci-Fi is definitely alright in my book. Let's hope Ubisoft comes out with a true announcement, and most importantly a release date soon.

Thanks, Kotaku.

  1. Good stuff. The level of unpredictability is evident by the fact the Ubisoft decided to do a 1980s themed dlc? expansion? whatever you want to call it. Would it be right to assume that there will be a Jurassic themed release as well, in your opinion?

    1. I'm considering it an expansion since you don't need Far Cry 3 to play it. I know for a fact that a lot of people, me included would love a Jurassic themed expansion. I nearly expect to see dinosaurs when I traverse the island in Far Cry 3, it just makes perfect sense.

  2. I'd love to see games return to old-school expansions instead of the bit-sized and overpriced DLCs the industry is riddled with nowadays. It's also pleasing that this expansion seems to offer a fresh experience rather than rehashed gameplay from Far Cry 3 (judging from the screenshots at least). Looks promising.

    1. Me too. It's so much more enticing to me to see a legitimate expansion to a game. Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare is a great example.
