Just a few weeks ago rumors were stirring about a black 3DS XL. Well, it looks like the rumors were true! Today Nintendo announced it's fourth addition to the existing 3DS XL color line.
Black was one of the first colors the 3DS launched with in February 2011. However, when the larger version was released July of the following year, a black one was nowhere in sight. The two launch colors were a bright red and electric blue. A pink and white version was released a few months later. Though the three colors were fun, they lacked the classy feel exuded by the original black 3DS.
The sleek and sexy version of the 3DS XL will be released August 11 in North America. If you have your Nintendo facts in order you'll realize that it's the same day that Mario and Luigi: Dream Team comes out. Mario and Luigi: Dream team is the fourth installment in the Mario and Luigi RPG series and is part of the "Year of Luigi" which marks the 30th anniversary of Luigi's first appearance.
If you don't already own a 3DS, want to upgrade to the XL, or are just plain tired of the color, head to your nearest game/tech store and pick up the black 3DS XL and a copy of Mario and Luigi: Dream Team on August 11.
